Travel by bike

to Canada Square

Cycling to work can dramatically improve your general fitness and is proven to help reduce stress and anxiety. With on site secure cycle storage, showers and changing facilities some of the normal barriers to commuting by bike have been removed (for those living close enough!) and you can even get a new bike at significantly reduced prices through the Cycle to Work Scheme.

As many people will be aware TfL have invested heavily in cycling infrastructure in recent years, with both the Cycle Superhighways and the on street bike hire scheme’s both providing really popular.

The sections below highlight the local facilities and the way in which the bank supports cycling.

  • Cycle storage, showers & changing facilities

There are 50 cycle parking racks available at the site available for staff to use.

Complementing these spaces there are 3 showers available on the mezzanine level next to security. To make use of these shower/changing facilities staff need to join the gym.

Should you need further details please get in touch.
  • Plan a journey by bike

If you are new to cycling in the area, or haven’t been out on your bike for a while, it’s worth checking out the best route to work – with lots of off street routes and designated cycle lanes you may just find it’s a lot simpler than you thought!

The TfL website has a really easy to use Cycle Journey Planner which can help you plan out your best route. The tool allows you to specify how easy (or difficult) you would like the route to be, and lets you add options to take your bike on public transport.
  • Adult cycle training

If it’s been a while since you last went out on your bike, or you’d like to get a bit of advice and support on local routes and options then TfL offer a range of adult cycle training courses.

  • Cycle maps

The TfL cycle map for the Canary Wharf area is available free of charge.

  • Cycle to Work scheme: save up to 42% on the cost of a new bike

Employees have the opportunity to purchase a bike (and associated safety equipment) as part of the ‘Cycle to Work’ scheme, these type of arrangements allow you to pay for your new bike through a salary sacrifice arrangement, enabling you to save up to 42% compared to buying a bike on your own.
